Hair Loss

We typically shed hair daily at a slow and constant rate, making the hear loss virtually unnoticeable.   Excessive, sudden or patterned hair loss can occur to anyone ay any time and have many different causes.

Alopecia areata (need link) is a type of hair loss caused by an autoimmune disease and is often characterized by bald patches.

Symptoms can include excessive amounts of hair loss that can be rapid or gradual.  Thinning of the hair or a receding hairline on the scalp.  Hair loss that reveals skin in hair-bearing areas in a specific pattern.

Hair loss can have many different causes, it may require multiple different treatments.  Hair can grow back on its own, but, depending on the type of loss, it can respond to medications and treatments from a dermatologist.  Hair loss can be associated with other conditions and other medical specialties may need to be involved.

Our office is proud to offer Keravive (need link) scalp treatments to painlessly promote scalp health for a fuller and healthier looking hair.
