Dr. Gallagher graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude
from Harvard University. Dr. Gallagher completed medical school and his internship at the University of California, San Francisco, where he received the UCSF-Reiner International Health Research Fellowship, and a fellowship from the American Medical Student Association for a research project in Kenya. While in medical school, he organized and led a medical outreach trip to the Bolivian Andes.
Dr. Gallagher then completed his dermatology residency at New York University (NYU), where he received extensive training in medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology.
After his residency, Dr. Gallagher was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at NYU. His duties included training dermatology residents and serving as Director of the Residency Selection Committee. Additionally, Dr. Gallagher maintained a busy private practice with NYU’s Dermatology Faculty Practice. He also co-founded the only free clinic for uninsured patients in Manhattan and received university recognition for this contribution to community health.
Dr. Gallagher relocated to Colorado to co-found Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology
. He has published work in peer-reviewed medical journals and a dermatology textbook. He has appeared on local radio and in the local press to speak about medical and cosmetic dermatology. He also serves as the dermatology contributor on the Medical Review Board of About.com
Dr Gallagher has served on the Board of Directors for many local organizations, including the Boulder Valley Independent Practice Association, the Boulder County Medical Society, and the Colorado Medical Society
Dr. Gallagher’s interests outside of dermatology include community service, hiking, running and playing bridge. He is fluent in Spanish.

JEANIE CHUNG LEDDON, MD, PHD
BOARD CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGIST
is board certified in dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology
Dr. Leddon completed her medical training at Cornell University, her internship at Yale University and her residency in dermatology at New York University (NYU).
During medical school, Dr. Leddon received the Max Kade Fellowship to study dermatology at the University of Vienna, Austria. At NYU and the University of Vienna, Dr. Leddon received comprehensive training in cosmetic, medical, surgical and pediatric dermatology from some of the field’s most highly respected dermatologists.
She also earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at the Glaxo Research Institute.
After relocating to Colorado from New York, Dr. Leddon co-founded Boulder Valley Center for Dermatology
Dr. Leddon has numerous publications on basic scientific research, as well as dermatologic conditions in professional journals. Her experience has led her to appear in the local news media for advice on various skin conditions and on Lifetime TV Women’s Health Series for the treatment of spider veins. Dr. Leddon was also interviewed by Real Simple magazine for her advice on skin care during the winter.
Dr. Leddon is married with two young boys and enjoys running, tennis and skiing. She is fluent in Korean.

RYAN BIRD, PA-C, M PAS
Ryan previously served on the BV Derm team as a Medical Assistant, and he has rejoined our practice as a Physician Assistant. Ryan graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in integrative physiology. He earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from Marquette University’s Physician Assistant Program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ryan shares our values of patient-centered care in all aspects of our medical practice. We are delighted to have him here and we know you will appreciate the care he brings.

Born in the United Kingdom and educated in Northern England, Julie moved to the U.S. after meeting her husband, a New Yorker. Julie has extensive experience in the medical field, working in the neonatal intensive care unit, and serving as a scrub technician for obstetrics surgeries. She is a trained and licensed esthetician with intensive training in CoolSculpting, Acne treatment, laser procedures, facials, microdermabrasion, skincare, and peels. Julie's goal is to help our patients look and feel their very best.
Carey joins our practice with over six years of experience working in a busy medical spa. She is skilled in facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, dermaplaning, and laser treatments. Carey is a certified laser technician and has a passion for more advanced techniques.
